Stay-cation

A few weeks ago Kelly said he needed to take some time off from work. And by golly, I agreed.
The kids and I have had a fun summer with lots of beach and pool time but Kelly on the other hand has been working Mon - Thurs (he works from home on Fridays) until 7:30 or 8 pm most nights. That my friends is lame. He knows it and I know it.
We decided he should take a whole week off and that what he has done this week. We talked about going all sorts of places and decided to just stay put. Hey, we like our little town and all it has to offer. Plus there are so many great things to do just a short drive away also.

Our plans:
Take one full week off from work
Go to Newport Beach for a day
Go on bike rides
Go to a park and play
Eat yummy food
Swim!
Spend a day in San Diego
Have a picnic
Beach again
Beach again

We have done most of it. We have been taking it easy! No rush. Sleep in, stay up late, all the good stuff. Next week Daphne starts kindergarten (she has been carrying her backpack around and decorating her lunchbox - more on this next week!) and we have the rest of the weekend to enjoy time as a family.

A few instagram photos from the week for those of you who aren't on there!

Basically, you should have a stay-cation.
Save your gas and travel expenses, sleep in your own beds, spend money on your favorite restaurants, and enjoy all that your little town and surrounding area has to offer.
This is my favorite thing we have done as a family!
