+ Louder Than Bombs (Morrissey Live at Hollywood Bowl Tonight)
Tonight is the night that Kelly can finally cash in his hard-earned “ambition bucks” to see Morrissey live in concert. For those of you who know Kelly, you know that Morrissey and/or The Smiths have been the background music of choice for almost his whole life. You may also know that he’s had possession of Moz tickets several times in the past, yet because of poorly-planned groundings and flaky friends (or flaky cars) in high school, he has never been able to see the Manchester crooner do his thing. So, tonite we will be throwing roses on the stage at Hollywood Bowl. Maybe we’ll post some pictures if we can get them. Despite the Moz entering his golden years, the new album is really good.

so did he play anything pre "V & I"? cuz everything else is crap (with the exception of that funny "sp gram" album whose "boy racer" is just plain fun. any smiths tunes?
ReplyDeletehope you enjoyed.

To my surprise, they played several Smiths tunes. He played a 2 hour set (came on stage an hour late as expected), and only played 2 tracks from Ringleader of The Tormenters (the newest disc).
ReplyDeleteWith alot of the Latino Zoot Suiters and L.A. Greasers in attendance, "You Are The Quarry" was another popular album. He gained quite the following whilst he lived in L.A.
They even closed the show with a Smiths song, which I thought was odd but cool. You really should pick up the later albums. His charm and wit has been matched with seasoned angst, and provides for some great lyrics.
Peace out, holmes. Chevrolet represent.
Kelly
