Yesterday we took the kids to the great orange park in Irvine.
All we knew about the park was that there was a free hot air balloon ride and a merry go round.
We forgot the part about getting there early and reserving our spot for the hot air balloon ride so we instead rode the merry go round a bunch and checked out the rest of the park.
The park is some 1600 acres of land which is an old army base. It hasn't been used for 7 years and during the last 7 years it has been transformed into a park that includes the hot air balloon, the merry go round, a small art gallery, a small garden/farm with chickens and areas to learn about composting and planting gardens, etc. We kept saying it was the weirdest place but also really cool. We heard there were a lot more plans for the future of the park as well.

Basically it was a good time for the kids.

Looks like a fun day! Those chickens are just begging you to take them home with you! ;-)
